We are thrilled to share that the British Columbia Academy of Progressive Osteopathy (BCAoPO) is opening its doors in Vancouver, bringing the same rigorous, WHO-compliant osteopathic training that has defined our Ontario flagship to Canada's west coast. A new home for progressive osteopathic education on the west coast
Students across BC, Alberta, Yukon, and the Pacific Northwest now have a local home for an in-depth, hands-on osteopathy diploma taught by the same faculty, philosophy, and curriculum standards as the Ontario Academy of Progressive Osteopathy (OAoPO).
Our promise on either side of the country is the same: progressive education, progressive practitioners.
What program does the BC Academy offer?
The BCAoPO offers the same full diploma program as our Ontario flagship: a comprehensive, multi-year osteopathic education aligned with the World Health Organization's Benchmarks for Training in Osteopathy.
What that means in practice:
- A curriculum rooted in classical osteopathic principles and global manual practice — anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biomechanics, functional neurology, visceral and cranial fields, and clinical reasoning.
- A faculty of experienced clinicians and educators, drawn from the same network of partners and instructors that supports the OAoPO.
- A student clinic component so candidates graduate with substantial supervised hands-on hours, not just theory.
Students who complete the diploma will graduate with the same education and standards as their Ontario peers, ready to pursue practice as Manual Osteopathic Practitioners in British Columbia and beyond.
